Answer
There are many things that could result in termination of your benefits. The most common is when the individual's medical condition improves to a degree that the person becomes able to perform substantial gainful work activity. Another situation is when an individual actually returns to substantial gainful work activity. A disabled person might obtain some additional education or training that would allow them to return to work in a less physically demanding job. Finally, a disabled worker receives disability benefits until their 65th birthday or their full retirement age, at which time the benefits automatically convert to retirement benefits.
