Yes, there are three parts to Medicare insurance. There is hospital insurance, medical insurance and prescription coverage. The hospital insurance pays part of inpatient hospital bills and certain follow-up care after an admission. This type of coverage is free. The other two types of Medicare are medical insurance and prescription insurance. You are not entitled to these until you have been on disability benefits for two years. They will help pay a portion of doctors' bills and prescriptions. You must pay a monthly premium for this coverage if you decide to enroll in it.
